Apples and Ermine


Here I am – I am the little girl, not the woman. I am asking her if I can have some ermine earmuffs, it is cold in the room and that ermine is not doing any good as mere trim on her coat!

We’ll start a fire soon, I hope, and make an apple tart flavored with anise! Here is our recipe, on page 62 –
