A Little Coffee Never Hurts, Nor Does a . . .

Well, here we go with the shoes again. I’m not sure what’s going on with the shoes on postcards, but something always is. But I won’t try to figure it out right now because it is time to think about Valentines Day gifts.

What to give your intended Valentine is a stressful cause of worry for many people. Of course there are others who just sort of forget that this is a very intense day – probably moreso than Christmas or a birthday, forΒ  the many people who believe in romantic love.

Today I read a post about something which could be given on Valentines Day that would not cost a single cent. And it would be one of the most wonderful things to have!

Here is the post. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. πŸ™‚

    • Joan, thanks. I switched out themes (twice, I think! ha ha ha) since you originally posted the invitation – had the Valentines avatar up for some time but then realized that I would not be doing ‘exactly’ Valentines cards so dropped it off for fear of disappointing someone expecting an exact Valentine on the day. But your post was awesome, and I’m happy to meet you and will be back to visit! πŸ™‚

      • Those are wooden Dutch shoes, worn because so much of the Netherlands is below sea level and marsh like. Dannemiller Coffee was based in Canton, Oh and in New York. Not sure why they have a Dutch post card!

  1. The Dutch theme was used a lot around that time as a marketing tool, Julia. It was seemingly a sort of ‘meme’ – used everywhere as a style for all sorts of reasons. Probably there is something in design literature or advertising history about it . . . the Dutch were always shown as being adorably cute and sweet with old-fashioned values. πŸ™‚
